Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka D. K. Shivakumar said there are attempts by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to bring down the Congress government in Karnataka but all those attempts will be futile bids. He was speaking to media persons before leaving for Hyderabad. Earlier Congress MLA Ganiga Ravi made this claim and when asked about this Shivakumar made this statement.

Shivakumar said that efforts will be made to request and warn the party leaders in the state not to speak to the media about the party’s internal matters, government and the power sharing. Despite the warning if they still continue to defy these then notices would be served said the deputy chief minister.
Congress MLA Ganiga Ravi earlier said that his colleagues are offered Rs 50 crore and a minister portfolio in an effort to destabilise the elected government. Interacting with the scribes in Davanagere Ravi said four MLAs were being approached with this proposal. However, Ravi didn’t uttered the name of BJP in his statement. The person who is approaching with these offers is N.R. Santhosh who happens to be the ex-personal secretary of the former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa.

Santhosh was instrumental in bringing the Congress – JDS coalition government down in the state down.
