BJP spokesperson Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi delivered a soul-stirring keynote address at the 17th Indian Journalism Festival, held in Indore.
Speaking alongside Bharat Express CMD and Editor-in-Chief Upendrra Rai, Trivedi reflected on the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the timeless relevance of human emotion and consciousness.
Remembering A Historic Day
Opening his speech, Dr Trivedi recalled April 12, 1961, when Yuri Gagarin became the first human in space.
He connected this leap in science with today’s AI revolution, noting: “Just as space exploration redefined our limits, AI brings both challenges and solutions- but its biggest lesson is that intelligence, too, can be artificial.”
Mind vs Machine
Drawing from Indian philosophy, he emphasized the concept of antahkaran chatushtaya- mind (manas), intellect (buddhi), memory (chitta), and ego (ahankaar).
“AI can compute and react,” he said, “but it lacks manas—the core of human feeling and perception.” He warned against overestimating AI’s role in domains that require sensitivity, empathy, and intuitive understanding.
In a striking line, Trivedi noted, “AI may provide intelligence, but it cannot feel the silent sorrow of the earth.” Through a powerful poem, he questioned:
“Aakash naapne waalon, tum sach-sach keh do, kya naap sake ho tum dharti ki maun vyatha?”
He urged the audience to recognize that despite humanity’s progress—from moon landings to neural networks—the soul of human experience remains untouched by machines.

He shared his view that AI is a ‘double-edged sword’- offering endless potential but posing serious ethical and emotional dilemmas.
CMD Rai emphasized the need for responsible journalism in the age of evolving technology.
Known for his philosophical insights and technical acumen, Dr Trivedi holds a PhD in engineering and often bridges science with spirituality in his oratory.
His speech at the festival was a powerful reminder of the role human consciousness plays in a digital world increasingly driven by algorithms.
