On 31 January 2022, he voluntarily retired to pursue a career in politics, motivated by a desire to serve the public.

In the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Singh contested from Sarojini Nagar as the BJP candidate. He defeated Samajwadi Party’s Abhishek Mishra by a significant margin of nearly 56,000 votes.

Prior to Singh, this seat was held by the BJP’s Swati Singh.
