Rajya Sabha MP and former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dr Dinesh Sharma today underscores the Pasi community’s unwavering dedication to national service during a massive rally held at Kasmundi Kala, Malihabad. Speaking on the occasion of the Maharaja Kansa Pasi Mahotsav, he recalls the community’s rich legacy of sacrifice and courage.
Dr Sharma states that the Pasi community has always stood firm in defence of the country, playing a significant role in resisting foreign invaders, including the Mughals and the British.
He notes that the region around Lucknow was historically ruled by Pasi kings, whose contributions remain a matter of pride.
He cites examples such as Maharaja Lakhan Pasi, who established and developed Lucknow, and Maharaja Kansa Pasi, whose lineage shaped Malihabad and Sandila.
The BJP leader accuses the Congress party of insulting Dr BR Ambedkar by allegedly rigging elections against him and now attempting to revive its fading politics by using his name. He warns the community to remain vigilant against forces seeking to divide society for political gain.
Preserving Heritage
Dr Sharma praises former Union Minister Kaushal Kishore for his dedication to public welfare and assures full support for establishing memorials in honour of Maharaja Kansa Pasi and his descendants.
He emphasises that the BJP consistently works to preserve and promote the memory of leaders who have sacrificed for the nation, mentioning initiatives such as the restoration of Maharaja Bijli Pasi’s fort and the setting up of educational institutions in his name.
Highlighting the teachings of Guru Ravidas and BJP ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhyay, Dr Sharma reiterates the party’s focus on eradicating social inequalities.
He stresses that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government places the uplift of the poor at the centre of its schemes, citing PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat and marriage grants for underprivileged daughters as milestones in social reform.
The rally witnesses the participation of local legislators, block heads and community leaders who pledge support for building memorials and promoting the Pasi community’s historic contributions to India.
