The Government of India has reiterated its openness to discussions with the Apex Body Leh (ABL) and Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) on matters concerning Ladakh.
Authorities stated that dialogue through the High Powered Committee (HPC) on Ladakh or any suitable platform remains welcome at all times.
The dialogue mechanism with ABL and KDA under the HPC has already produced tangible results.
These include increased reservations for Scheduled Tribes of Ladakh, introduction of women’s reservation in the Leh and Kargil Autonomous Hill Development Councils (LAHDCs), and the safeguarding of local languages.
Recruitment Drive Underway
In addition, the government has commenced the recruitment process for 1,800 posts in various government departments across the Union Territory of Ladakh, marking a significant step towards strengthening administration and providing local employment opportunities.
Authorities expressed confidence that ongoing discussions with ABL and KDA would continue to deliver positive outcomes in the near future.
