Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr Dinesh Sharma, on Sunday underlined the inclusive nature of the Atal ideology, describing it as a unifying force that binds the nation together.
Addressing party workers in Sarojininagar, Lucknow, he stressed that ensuring victory in the upcoming elections would depend largely on adding every eligible voter whose name is missing from the electoral rolls.
Dr Sharma said party workers must operate at a ‘war footing’ to ensure that no voter is left out of the list. He emphasised the importance of staying active on the ground and called for strict monitoring of the entire process, including the use of live location tracking of workers to ensure accountability.
According to him, the success of the organisational exercise would directly impact the party’s electoral performance.
Highlighting the importance of the Sarojininagar Assembly segment, Dr Sharma urged local workers to lead by example in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He noted that workers have already begun filling Form 6 and should carry out the process in a record-setting manner.
The MP pointed out that in Lucknow city seats where the BJP failed to secure victory, the SIR percentage was notably higher, calling for deeper analysis and corrective action.
Praising the commitment of BJP workers, Dr Sharma said that once they set a goal, they ensure its completion.
He credited the Narendra Modi-led central government and the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh for establishing the Rashtriya Prerna Sthal, which he said fulfilled a long-standing public aspiration to honour the party’s ideological leaders.
Memorials dedicated to Deendayal Upadhyaya, Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Atal Bihari Vajpayee now stand together, he added.
Atal Ideology Lives On, Says Sharma
Reflecting on the ideological legacy, Dr Sharma said the past year had left behind positive memories and reaffirmed that Atal ideology lives in the heart of every party worker. He recalled that Dr Mookerjee articulated the Sangh ideology, which Deendayal Upadhyaya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee later strengthened.
Citing the 1991 economic crisis, he noted that Vajpayee, even while in opposition, supported tough decisions of the Congress government to safeguard national interest.
Dr Sharma was the chief guest at the Atal birth centenary समारोह and the Assembly-level SIR seminar held in Sarojininagar.
Several senior leaders, including MP Babu Ram Nishad, city BJP president Anand Dwivedi and other party representatives, were present at the event.
