Dev Rishi Narad Journalism Awards 2024
Under the auspices of the Indraprastha Vishva Samvad Kendra, the Dev Rishi Narad Journalism Awards 2024 were successfully held on Saturday, June 29, 2024. The ceremony took place at the Speaker Hall Annexe, Constitution Club, honoring 12 journalists across various categories. Each recipient received a certificate, memento, shawl, and a cheque for Rs 11,000.
The honored journalists are:
– Shrestha Verma, Associate Editor, TICE, received the Dev Rishi Narad Outstanding Young Journalist Award.
– Deepti Mishra, Chief Sub Editor, Jagran New Media, received the Dev Rishi Narad Award for Outstanding Women’s Issues/Women’s Sensitivity Journalism.
– Vikas Kaushik, Associate Executive Producer, ABP News, received the Dev Rishi Narad Award for Outstanding Rural/Environmental Journalism.
– Dharmendra Singh, Deputy News Editor, Dainik Jagran, received the Dev Rishi Narad Award for Outstanding Newsroom Collaboration.
– Manish Chauhan, Senior Deputy Editor, Panchjanya, received the Dev Rishi Narad Outstanding Digital Journalist Award.
– Harish Chandra Barnwal, Vice President, Bluekraft Digital Foundation, received the Dev Rishi Narad Award for Outstanding Content Creator (YouTube).
– Gaurav Mishra, Special Correspondent, Bharat 24, received the Dev Rishi Narad Award for Outstanding Courageous Journalism.
– Sanjay Kumar, Senior Cameraman, News Nation, received the Dev Rishi Narad Award for Outstanding Photographer (Photo/Video).
– Nemish Hemant, Deputy Chief Reporter, Dainik Jagran, received the Dev Rishi Narad Award for Outstanding Print Journalist.
– Dinesh Gautam, Consulting Editor, Times Now Navbharat, received the Dev Rishi Narad Award for Outstanding TV Journalist.
– Anita Chaudhary, Political Editor, Swadesh, received the Dev Rishi Narad Award for Outstanding Columnist.

The Felicitation Ceremony
Additionally, Reema Parasar, Senior Consulting Editor, DD News, receive honour with the Dev Rishi Narad Outstanding Journalist Award and received a certificate, memento, shawl, and a cheque for Rs 21,000.
The Indraprastha Vishva Samvad Kendra solicited entries for the Dev Rishi Narad Journalism Awards 2024 in 12 categories through online and offline mediums. A distinguished jury was formed to study the entries and select the awardees. The jury included Raj Kishore, Editor-in-Chief, Buland Bharat TV; Priya Kumar, Director General, DD News; Prafull Ketkar, Editor, Organizer; Hitesh Shankar, Editor, Panchjanya; Anant Vijay, Associate Editor, Dainik Jagran; and Harsh Vardhan Tripathi, Columnist and Panelist.
The chief guest at the ceremony was Sunil Ambekar, All India Publicity Head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, and the guest of honor was Avinash Pandey, CEO of ABP News. Shubh Karan Bothra, Chief Advisor and Trustee, Bothra Foundation Trust, Delhi, presided over the event.
Learning Communication from Dev Rishi Narad
Addressing the ceremony, Avinash Pandey emphasized that modern journalists should learn from Dev Rishi Narad’s approach to resolving problems through communication. He highlighted how Narad Ji provided a model of communication that helped solve major issues, ensuring information exchange was based on facts to avoid misleading society. He stressed the importance of choosing words carefully, as exemplified by Narad Ji.
Bringing True Information to Society and Nation
Sunil Ambekar, the chief speaker, stressed that journalists should present true information in the interest of society and the nation. He praised the on-ground reporting by journalists and underscored their role as vigilant watchdogs of democracy. He congratulated the awardees and urged journalists to present news without a negative societal impact. Ambekar also referenced the recent commemoration of the Emergency’s dark chapter on June 25, urging that such events be remembered to prevent future harm to the nation.
Raj Kishore, Editor-in-Chief of Buland Bharat TV and head of the jury, explained the selection process for the awardees.
Ritesh Agarwal, Vice President of Indraprastha Vishva Samvad Kendra and President Ashok Sachdeva delivered the vote of thanks.
