Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Friday paid a courtesy visit to President Droupadi Murmu and held discussions concerning issues linked to the national capital.
Taking to X, he posted, “Honoured to call on Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji and receive her guidance for the road ahead. Grateful for her encouragement.”

Earlier in the day, the Lieutenant Governor spoke about his visit to Amrit Udyan within the Rashtrapati Bhavan premises.
Sharing a photograph from the well-known gardens, he noted that he enjoyed a morning walk there and interacted with several Delhi residents who had come to see the vibrant spring flowers.

Sandhu also convened a meeting with senior government officials to evaluate the situation regarding health services, sanitation and administrative readiness in the city.
The meeting included Secretary (Health) Rupesh Kumar Thakur and Additional Chief Secretary (Food and Civil Supplies) Prashant Goel, where the emphasis remained on coordination, preparedness and effective response mechanisms.

During the day, the Delhi Police Commissioner met the Lieutenant Governor at Lok Niwas to discuss security-related matters. Their conversation covered issues such as law and order, cybercrime and other emerging challenges, along with possible strategies to address them.

Later, Sandhu met Municipal Corporation of Delhi Commissioner Sanjeev Khirwar and reviewed civic concerns, including waste management, reduction of garbage mounds and steps to improve transparency in licensing and enforcement systems.

A day earlier, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with Members of Parliament representing Delhi in the Lok Sabha to deliberate on ways to accelerate development and welfare initiatives in the capital.

Sandhu recently assumed charge as the 23rd Lieutenant Governor of Delhi after taking the oath at Raj Niwas on Wednesday, succeeding Vinai Kumar Saxena.
