The troubles for dismissed trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar continue. The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Khedkar on a petition filed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The court has asked her to respond within three weeks, with the next hearing set for November 26.
UPSC has accused Khedkar of providing incorrect information in her earlier petition to the High Court. The commission claims her candidature was canceled after she made false claims in her petition.
In its petition, UPSC stated that Khedkar was informed about her candidature cancellation through the email address she used for her Civil Services Program 2022 application. However, Khedkar had told the court that she only learned of the cancellation through a UPSC press release.
Justice Jyoti Singh is hearing the case. UPSC further highlighted that Khedkar’s affidavit was dated July 28, 2024, while the cancellation order came on July 31. The commission has urged the court to launch an inquiry and initiate proceedings against Khedkar for giving false testimony.
The Delhi Police, in a status report filed in the High Court, accused Khedkar of submitting a fake disability certificate during her UPSC examinations in 2022 and 2023. According to the police, Khedkar altered her name in the certificate and falsely claimed it was issued from Maharashtra.
The report revealed that two certificates from Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, were under scrutiny, but the medical authority confirmed that no such certificates were issued. Khedkar had claimed a 47% disability in her application, which is now under investigation.
