Delhi High Court
The Delhi High Court has granted the Central Government an additional 10 days to respond to the Delhi Government’s petition seeking temporary allotment of land for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office. The court will hear the case next on July 22nd.
Earlier, the Central Government had requested a four-week extension, but the court granted a shorter period. The Delhi High Court had previously directed the Central Government to decide on the AAP’s memorandum within six weeks.

The Supreme Court has also extended the deadline for the AAP to vacate its current office from June 15th to August 10th. The High Court had ordered the AAP to vacate the premises, citing the need for expansion of the Delhi High Court.
The AAP had requested temporary allotment of land for its office, and the High Court suggested that the Central Government consider allotting temporary space until a permanent location is found. The Supreme Court has ordered the AAP to vacate its current office on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg, but the party has the right to seek alternative space for its office, like other political parties.
During the hearing, the Union Housing and Urban Development Ministry revealed that it had previously offered to allot a permanent office near Saket Court to the AAP, but the party did not respond. The ministry also stated that land is not available on Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg.
