Addressing the event via video conferencing, the Prime Minister remarked that India is entering an extraordinary era of opportunity in the space sector, driven by innovation and strong private participation.

PM Modi noted that Skyroot’s Infinity Campus reflects ‘India’s new thinking, innovation, and youth power’. He praised the momentum within the private space ecosystem, acknowledging India’s growing credibility and capability on the global stage.

According to him, Indian space talent has carved out a distinct identity worldwide through a combination of expertise, reliability, and value-driven engineering.

Reflecting on India’s space journey, he further recalled the early days of limited resources, contrasting them with the nation’s present role as the creator of some of the world’s most dependable launch vehicles.

“India has proved that the altitude of our dreams is decided by resolve, not resources,” he said.

India’s Expanding Space Capability

The Prime Minister emphasised that India now possesses capabilities held only by a select few nations—expert engineers, advanced manufacturing systems, world-class launch facilities, and an innovation-focused mindset.

He credited this progress to the transformative space sector reforms introduced over the past decade, which opened the industry to private participation and enabled startups to collaborate closely with the scientific community.

“These reforms have turned India’s space sector into an open, cooperative, and innovation-driven domain,” PM Modi stated, noting that the results of these changes were clearly visible in Skyroot’s achievements.

Global Opportunities for India’s Youth

Highlighting the rapidly expanding global demand for small satellites, the Prime Minister said that India is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for investors in the space sector.

With space recognised as a strategic asset worldwide, he predicted significant growth in the global space economy, offering immense opportunities for India’s young innovators and engineers.

Moreover, Skyroot’s newly inaugurated Infinity Campus spans approximately 200,000 square feet and is designed to support the end-to-end lifecycle of multiple launch vehicles—from design and development to integration and testing.

The facility has the capacity to produce one orbital rocket per month, marking a substantial boost to India’s space-manufacturing capabilities.

The Prime Minister also praised Skyroot founders Pawan Chandana and Bharath Dhaka—both former ISRO scientists and IIT alumni—for inspiring a new generation of entrepreneurs.

Their leadership, PM Modi said, demonstrates how young innovators are transforming India’s space aspirations into reality.

Skyroot previously made history in November 2022 by launching Vikram-S, India’s first privately built rocket, establishing itself as a pioneer in the country’s rapidly growing private space industry.
