Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has instructed BJP leader Praveen Shankar Kapoor to file a response to the revision petition submitted by Chief Minister Atishi in a defamation case. Atishi has challenged the summons order related to the defamation case initiated by Kapoor. Special Judge Vishal Gogne has set the next hearing for October 23 and 24, where the court will debate the revision petition.
Kapoor had filed a criminal defamation petition against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and Atishi, claiming that they falsely accused BJP leaders of accepting bribes to join their party. The court acknowledged the case on May 28 but has yet to take cognizance of the allegations against Kejriwal.

In his petition, Kapoor argues that the accusations made by Kejriwal and Atishi have harmed his reputation and that of his party. He contends that the AAP leaders failed to provide any evidence to support their claims. Kapoor’s statement was recorded on May 16.
Atishi had previously held a press conference, alleging that the BJP attempted to buy AAP MLAs. The BJP dismissed her claims as blatant lies, asserting that they had offered Rs 25 crore to topple the Delhi government. Kapoor’s petition also claims that Atishi’s allegations surfaced as her name came up in the Delhi Excise Scam case, suggesting an attempt to divert public attention.
Notably, while Atishi made serious allegations against the BJP, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police had raided her official residence around the same time. However, she has yet to present any evidence to substantiate her claims against the BJP.
