Due to bad weather and heavy traffic at Delhi airport on Monday, a Vistara flight that was scheduled to depart from Guwahati to Delhi (GAU-DEL) was diverted to Jaipur (JAI).
The weather in Delhi-NCR has caused multiple aircraft scheduled for Delhi to be redirected, according to information from airport authorities.
10 flights were diverted to Jaipur, 3 to Lucknow, 2 to Amritsar, and 1 to Ahmedabad from 1800hrs to 1900hrs.
A previous instance included air traffic congestion at Delhi airport, causing the Vistara flight from Kolkata to Delhi to be redirected to Lucknow.
“UK778 from Kolkata to Delhi (CCU-DEL) has been diverted to Lucknow (LKO) due to air traffic congestion at Delhi airport and is expected to arrive in Lucknow at 18:45 hours,” stated an official statement from Vistara. Please check back for more updates.”
IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Delhi 6E2327 was delayed by more than 50 minutes and was later diverted.
The inclement weather is causing ATC congestion at Delhi (DEL). There could be an impact on all departures, arrivals, and any subsequent flights. It is urged of passengers to monitor the status of their flights, according to a SpiceJet statement.
