Sri Sri 1008 Kanhaiya Prabhunand Giri Ji Maharaj

PRAYAGRAJ

The  first Dalit Mahamadaleshwar  of Juna Akhara ,Sri Sri 1008 Kanhaiya Prabhunand Giri Ji Maharaj “Barauli Baba”, said that caste system can be eradicated from the country as Dalits rejoin the mainstream. A day will come when caste difference will end in Sanathan Dharma wherein all are treated equally. Dalit”s,STs and OBCs who “left sanatan dharm due to fear of exploitation to embrace Buddhism, Christianity and Islam” to Hinduism,he added.

In context of which he is travelling around the country to spread awareness,so that Dalit community should come up and follow Sanatan Dharam so that the said community can get a correct path for their all round development.

During his visit to Prayagraj in context to forthcoming Maha Kumbh Barauli baba   further said  that he has  faced caste discrimination early in life, feels that it is his duty to guide others from the Dalit community towards sanyas and that lack of gurus from the community makes them vulnerable to religious conversions.
When people like me, who had been the victim of caste system, will be entrusted with such an important responsibility, it will bring the marginalized people to the mainstream.

It may be recalled that for the first time in the history of Juna Akhara, a Dalit sanyasi was  designated as ‘Mahamandaleswar’, the presiding position in the akhara in year 2019 Kumbh Mela.

“My community is scared of religion because it does not include them”, he said. For them, the Constitution is the holy scripture. When I go to meet them today, they consider me a Brahman cal or political agent who will dupe them. But when they get to understand my mission, they are ready to be beckoned at one call, said Giri.

Recalling times when he was considered an extremist Hindu when Giri worked with Hindu organizations but a Dalit when he became the priest at a Chandigarh based temple, he said.

The saint said  that  he has  gone through the pain of having to hear casteist comments. Politicians and media should stop using the word Dalit and call us SC, STs or OBCs which is the name given to us by the Constitution.
