COVID-19 Cases Rise In Rajasthan: Seven New Infections Reported, Tally Reaches 39

Rajasthan continues to witness a gradual rise in COVID-19 infections, with seven new cases reported in the past 24 hours.

Health officials say five of these cases emerged in Jaipur, while two were confirmed in Jodhpur.

In Jodhpur, AIIMS confirmed two positive cases, a 16-year-old girl from Balotra and a 31-year-old woman from Bikaner.

Jaipur’s new cases include two from Sawai Man Singh Hospital (SMS), and one each from Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS), Jaipuria Hospital, and a private healthcare facility.

Statewide COVID-19 Tally Hits 39, One Fatality Reported

With the latest additions, Rajasthan’s total Covid-19 case count for the year has reached 39. The state has also reported one death attributed to the virus.

District-wise, Jaipur leads with 17 cases, followed by Jodhpur with six, and Udaipur with four.

Didwana has recorded three cases, while Ajmer and Bikaner have reported two each.

Balotra, Dausa, Phalodi, and Sawai Madhopur have each reported one case.

One case has been recorded from an unspecified location.

Health Department Launches Preventive Measures

In response to the uptick in cases, the Rajasthan Health Department has initiated precautionary steps.

Director of Health, Ravi Prakash Sharma, has directed all divisional-level joint directors to conduct mock drills assessing oxygen availability in district hospitals.

Sharma emphasised the importance of hospital preparedness, instructing joint directors to check the stock and condition of oxygen cylinders, oxygen concentrators, and the functionality of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) tanks.

He has ordered all district hospitals to submit a detailed report on their oxygen infrastructure by June 2.

Readiness Measures To Combat COVID-19 Surge

Sharma emphasized that all hospitals must fully equip themselves to handle any potential surge in Covid-19 cases.

He directed officials to assess and promptly report the stock of oxygen, the condition and number of oxygen concentrators, and the readiness of liquid medical oxygen (LMO) tanks.

These steps aim to strengthen the state’s healthcare readiness in the face of rising COVID-19 infections and to ensure timely and effective patient care if the situation escalates.
