The Patiala House Court is set to pronounce its verdict on September 27 regarding the closure of the sexual exploitation case against former Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. The case involves allegations made by a minor female wrestler. The court has deferred its decision due to a strike by lawyers. Delhi Police has requested the case be closed.
In the last hearing, the court indicated that further clarification was needed. In June last year, the police filed a report seeking to quash the case initiated by the minor wrestler. During a closed-door hearing on August 1 last year, the minor wrestler expressed her satisfaction with the police investigation and did not oppose the closure report submitted by the police.
On June 15, 2023, the police submitted a report to the court requesting the quashing of the case. This request came after the wrestler’s father claimed during the investigation that she had made false allegations against Singh for revenge.

Additionally, several female wrestlers from Haryana have accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh of sexual exploitation, with trials ongoing. One of these accusations was made by a minor wrestler under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. However, she later withdrew her complaint, and the court reserved its decision on the matter about a year ago.
