Initial counting patterns from the West Bengal Assembly elections indicate that the Trinamool Congress is yet to secure a lead in any constituency across four districts, as per figures available around 10:30 AM.

The districts where the party is trailing in all seats include Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri in the northern region, along with Jhargram and West Burdwan in the southern belt.

In each of these areas, candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party have taken an early advantage across all constituencies.

In Jhargram district, which comprises Nayagram, Gopiballavpur, Jhargram and Binpur (ST), BJP nominees were leading in all four segments.

The region, part of the tribal-dominated Jangalmahal zone, has seen shifting political control over the years, from Left influence to Trinamool dominance after 2011.

A similar pattern was visible in Alipurduar, where BJP candidates were ahead in all five seats: Kumargram (ST), Kalchini (ST), Alipurduar, Falakata (SC) and Madarihat (ST).

In neighbouring Jalpaiguri district, the party led in all seven constituencies, including Dhupguri (SC), Maynaguri (SC), Jalpaiguri (SC), Rajganj (SC), Dabgram-Phulbari, Mal (ST) and Nagrakata (ST).

Both districts form part of the tea-growing Terai–Dooars region, where tribal and Rajbangshi communities play a decisive electoral role.

In West Burdwan, a key industrial zone known for coal mining and steel production, BJP candidates were ahead in all seven constituencies, including Pandabeswar, Durgapur (Purba), Durgapur (Paschim), Raniganj, Jamuria, Asansol (Dakshin) and Asansol (Uttar).

In Asansol (Dakshin), sitting MLA Agnimitra Paul was leading comfortably.

The emerging trends align with earlier remarks by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who, during campaign rallies, had suggested that the Trinamool Congress could struggle to register leads in several districts.

These figures reflect early counting trends and may evolve as the process continues.
