Cop28 Summit: PM Modi will be in Dubai for more than 21 hours, know why this visit of Prime Minister is special

This summit will run from 30 November to 12 December. PM Modi has also reached Dubai to join it.

The climate crisis on the earth is constantly increasing and the steps being taken to deal with it are either not enough or their pace is so slow that it is making it difficult to face this crisis. Now amid this challenge, the 28th United Nations Climate Change Summit (COP28) held in Dubai is quite important. This summit will run from 30 November to 12 December. PM Modi has also reached Dubai to join it. The second day of summit on climate crisis is going to be very special.

Let us know that in the 2020 meeting, it was decided that the developing country would provide $ 100 billion per year to reduce carbon emissions, but this amount has not been deposited yet. The COP28 is the 28th meeting on the United Nations climate issue. This happens every year and is the only multilateral decision -making platform in the world on climate change, which has almost complete membership of every country in the world. PM Modi has reached Dubai to join COP28. During this time, PM Modi will not only participate in the meeting, as well as many other programs are already determined.

India’s role as a developing country

Being a developing country, India’s role in this meeting organized on climate crisis becomes very important, because the largest population of the world remains here. How special this journey of PM is can be gauged from the fact that when the PM’s aircraft was landing in Dubai, then Modi-Modi’s slogans were being raised everywhere.

Overseas Indians welcome PM Modi in Dubai

As soon as PM reached his hotel in Dubai, slogans of “Modi-Modi” and “Modi government” started echoing in the air. Indian migrants welcomed the Indian leader not only raised slogans of Modi-Modi, but also shouted slogans of “Vande Mataram” as soon as the PM arrived. The PM also greeted the supporters with folded hands. He was seen talking to many Indians inside the hotel.

Welcoming his leader in the country, there was a lot of enthusiasm among the people. A young student, who got an opportunity to welcome PM at the hotel, said, “This was a very inspiring and inspiring moment. We felt good to see them. ”A cultural program was also organized to welcome PM Modi. People waiting to welcome PM in the hotel were seen taking the Indian flag. People of Bohra community were also present to welcome PM.

PM Modi’s schedule in UAE

Today is a very special day in PM Modi’s visit. PM Modi will take part in the summit on climate crisis on Friday. Apart from PM, many other global leaders will be present here to discuss ways to effectively deal with climate change. During its UAE visit, PM is also scheduled to participate in 3 other programs in 21 hours. These are side events, out of which India is hosting 2. India and UAE are hosting the first high level meeting together. It is a Green Credit Program which was notified by the Ministry of Environment in October.

The other side in the program is being jointly organized by Sweden and India. Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that this is the launch of Lead IT 2.0. It is a leadership group for energy change. He said that it was a joint initiative of India and Sweden which was launched at the United Nations Climate Action Summit in 2019. The PM is also scheduled to participate in another high level program called “Transforming Climate Finance”. It is being hosted by the United Arab Emirates.

Apart from these programs, some bilateral meetings are also scheduled during the PM’s two -day Dubai stay. He is expected to have bilateral meetings with other leaders attending the summit. It includes Israeli President Isaq Herzog, United Nations Secretary -General Antonio Guterres and newly elected President More Muizzu of Maldives.
