Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Dubai to participate in the COP28 World Climate Action Summit. In addition to his participation in WCAS, the Prime Minister will hold meetings with global leaders and participate in special events aimed at advancing climate action. Meanwhile, PM Modi has given his interview to a newspaper of United Arab Emirates on Friday. In which PM Modi has discussed many issues. PM Modi has given this interview to Al-Etihad newspaper.
PM Modi spoke on climate action
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his interview to the newspaper, ‘India hopes that COP28, hosted by the UAE, will effectively bring new momentum to climate action. India and the UAE stand together to shape a greener and more prosperous future. We remain steadfast in our joint efforts to advance and drive global discussion on climate action.
Climate change is a collective challenge
While discussing the financial situation, PM Modi said, “He has always said that climate change is a collective challenge, which demands an integrated global response.” PM Modi further said, “It is important to recognize that developing countries have not contributed to the creation of the problem. “Yet developing countries are eager to be part of the solution.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India and the UAE stand as partners in shaping a greener and more prosperous future. I believe climate action must be based on equity, climate justice, shared responsibility and shared capabilities. “By following these principles, we can create a path toward a sustainable future that leaves no one behind.”
India is at the forefront

The Prime Minister said, “At COP26, I presented the ‘Panchamrit’ – India’s five ambitious commitments as our contribution to global climate action.” PM Modi said that unfortunately, at the global level, the climate outlook is not that positive, “And there are concerns that we as a global community will not achieve our 2030 goals.”
