MP Mocks Vice President, Declaring 'I'm So Tall!' During Protest, Rahul Gandhi Records Incident
Trinamool Congress’ suspended MP, Kalyan Banerjee, stirred controversy during an opposition protest as he mimicked Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, declaring, “my spine is so straight, I’m so tall.” The impromptu skit, captured by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, unfolded amidst protests over the suspension of 141 MPs due to a security breach in parliament. Mock House proceedings took place at the new parliament building’s Makar Dwar.
Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar denounced the incident as “ridiculous and unacceptable.” Upon the House’s reconvening, Dhankhar criticized the act, emphasizing the distinction between the roles of the Chairman, Rajya Sabha, and the Speaker. He expressed dismay at a senior leader video-graphing a member of another party and decried the mimicry of the Chairman and Speaker as “ridiculous, shameful, and unacceptable.”
The BJP shared the video, condemning both Banerjee and Gandhi for mocking the Vice President. The party asserted that such behavior justified the suspension of Opposition MPs, characterizing it as “reckless and violative” of parliamentary decorum.
If the country was wondering why Opposition MPs were suspended, here is the reason…
TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee mocked the Honourable Vice President, while Rahul Gandhi lustily cheered him on. One can imagine how reckless and violative they have been of the House! pic.twitter.com/5o6VTTyF9C

In the wake of the incident, opposition MPs persist in their demand for a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the security breach. The political landscape remains tense amid these confrontations within the parliamentary setting.
