Authorities have imposed a complete ban on the operation of drones and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) over and around Noida International Airport in Jewar.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and security agencies jointly declared the area a ‘Red Zone’ to bolster airspace security.

Authorities Declare Airport Zone as High-Security Area

In a directive issued under the Airports Authority of India Act, 1934, officials classified Noida International Airport and its surrounding areas as a no-drone zone.

The decision, taken on October 8, 2024, aims to prevent any unauthorised aerial activity that could threaten airport operations and national security.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Manish Mishra emphasised the strategic importance of the airport.

“Noida International Airport is a strategically important infrastructure project. Its security is a top priority,” he said.

Violators Face Strict Legal Action

Officials have warned that they will treat operating drones without prior approval in this restricted area as a serious offence.

Individuals, organisations, or groups found violating the directive will face strict legal consequences.

“Misuse of drones can pose a serious security threat. We urge citizens to comply with the rules and report any suspicious activity to the police,” ADCP Mishra added.

Enhanced Surveillance Measures In Place

Security agencies have stepped up surveillance in the area using CCTV cameras and advanced monitoring systems.

The local administration is working closely with security forces to detect and prevent any unauthorised drone operations.

Airport Appeals For Public Cooperation

The airport management has urged the public to cooperate with the new restrictions.

It stressed that compliance with these regulations is essential for ensuring the safety of the airport and protecting national infrastructure.

Authorities have also requested citizens to remain vigilant and immediately alert local law enforcement if they observe any suspicious behaviour.

Zero Tolerance For Violations

With the ban now in effect, officials confirmed that all drone activities near the airport are strictly prohibited.

Authorities will take legal action without exception against any violations, reinforcing the government’s commitment to aviation safety and national security.
