The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) raided 13 locations across five cities on Saturday. Officers seized laptops and digital devices over alleged black-marketing and counterfeit sales of concert tickets for Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh. The ED launched the raids after fans reported inflated prices and fake tickets circulating online.
Raids in Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, and Bangalore focused on dismantling networks behind Dosanjh’s ‘Dil-Luminati’ tour (October 21-December 29) and Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ (Mumbai, January 18-19, 2025). The ED investigated under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and seized phones, laptops, and SIM cards linked to the scams.
The ED identified several suspects who sold fake or overpriced tickets through Instagram, WhatsApp, and Telegram. Official ticketing partners Bookmyshow and Zomato Live confirmed tickets sold out within minutes, causing black-market prices to soar up to Rs 1,00,000 per ticket.
Multiple FIRs have been filed, including one by Bookmyshow, against suspects exploiting concert demand by selling counterfeit tickets and inflating prices.
