Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid heartfelt homage to the eminent freedom fighter and Bharat Ratna awardee, Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant, on the anniversary of his passing on Thursday.

During the solemn ceremony where he adorned Pandit Pant’s memorial with floral tributes, CM Yogi Adityanath praised the late leader’s pivotal role in India’s struggle for independence.

Reflecting on Pant’s illustrious legacy, CM Yogi described him as a stalwart of the freedom movement and a devoted servant of Mother India. He highlighted Pandit Pant’s significant contributions, particularly as the first Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh following the state’s reorganization in 1950.

This commitment to national unity and linguistic diversity earned Pant the esteemed Bharat Ratna award in 1957, alongside his significant contributions as a member of the Constituent Assembly of India.
