CM Chouhan to inaugurate 2-Days Meet of Think-20 under G-20 on January 16

More than 300 ministers, intellectuals, and subject experts from India and abroad will brainstorm in plenary and parallel sessions along with round table conferences and cluster briefings on the topic of “Environment-friendly lifestyle, ethical values, and global good governance”..

Bhopal: January 15, 2023.  Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the two-day Think-20 meeting under G-20, on January 16 at Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center in Bhopal at 10 am.

More than 300 ministers, intellectuals, and subject experts from India and abroad will brainstorm in plenary and parallel sessions along with round table conferences and cluster briefings on the topic of “Environment-friendly lifestyle, ethical values, and global good governance”. The first day of the meeting will have 3 Plenary Sessions, 10 Parallel Sessions, and 2 Briefing Clusters.

G-20 Chief Co-ordinator, Government of India Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla gave detailed information about the meeting to be held on January 16 and 17 in Bhopal. Vice President of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi said that Ethics and Science as well as Ethics and Finance will also be discussed in various sessions in presence of around 300 participants. Out of these, 94 will be international representatives, 115 from different states of India, and around 100 will be local participants. The gathering will include 14 G-20 countries, 3 South Asian countries Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, 21 countries from Africa and other regions, and 4 Egypt, Netherlands, Nigeria, and Singapore representatives being official guest countries.

Along with this, representatives of 9 international organizations Asian Development Bank, ADB Institute, African Union, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, GIZ, OECD, UN, UNDP and UNICEF will also participate.

The inaugural session on the first day will be graced by Mr. Tetsushi Sonobe, Dean and CEO, ADBI Tokyo, Japan. Among the special Speakers will be Regional Director for South Asia UNICEF, Nepal Mr. George Lauria Adjei, Deputy Minister of Political Affairs, Law, Security and National Development Planning of Indonesia Mr. Slamet Soedarsono, G-20 Chief Coordinator, Government of India Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla and Government of India The Vice-Chairman of NITI Aayog, Suman Berry. The vote of thanks will be expressed by Dr. Indrani Badpujari, Principal Advisor, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis.

The topic of this session will be introduced by Director General, of Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) and Vice President of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi and T-20 Chair and Director General MPIDSA Ambassador Sujon R. Will do masonry. Shri Prateek Hajela, CEO of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis, Bhopal will deliver the welcome address.

3 Plenary and 10 parallel sessions on the first day

The first plenary session on the topic Life, Value and Development Formation will be presided over by Dr. Rajeev Kumar, President of the First India Foundation and former Vice Chairman of NITI Aayog, Government of India. In this session, Professor Dennis J., President, Global Solutions Initiative, Germany, Snower will be the keynote speaker. Panelists of the session Dr. Mario Pezzini, Former Director of the OECD Development Centre, Paris Professor Riatu Qibatiah, Director of the Institute of Economic and Social Research, University of Indonesia Professor Li Xiaoyun, Lead Chair, Agricultural University of China Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) Singapore Dr. Iqbal Singh Sewiya, Director, Capacity Building Commission, Government of India, Dr. R.K. Balasubramaniam, Director of the Center for Professional Ethics U Kalon, United Kingdom and School of Law, U Kalon, Cyprus Prof. Doris Suredor, Chairman of Task Force 6 of T20 India and Visiting Fellow RIS, New Delhi Mr. G.A. The first plenary session will be followed by two briefing clusters. The first cluster of the North-Eastern Training, Research and Advocacy (NETRA) Foundation will be addressed by Dr. Jayant Chowdhary, Head, Department of Rural Development, Tripura University, Tripura, and Dr. Subhracharan Das, Department of Economics, Tripura University, Tripura. The second cluster of the Indian Economic Association (IEA) will be addressed by GJ Professor of the Department of Economics, University of Science and Technology, N. Bishnoi,  and Professor of Economics and Head of the School of Social Sciences, Panjab University, Patiala, Prof. D.K. Madan.

The second plenary session based on the topic of ‘Financing Resilient Infra-structure and Sustainable Transition’ will be chaired by Shri Shyamal Gopinath, former Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Keynote speaker will be Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Economic Council, Prof. M. Suresh Babu.
