Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday underscored the importance of clean energy investments by Indian firms in expanding access to global markets.
At a post-Budget webinar, he said companies investing in green and sustainable energy can seize new global opportunities as international supply chains shift.
Highlighting the 2026-27 Union Budget, PM Modi noted that it reinforces India’s commitment to sustaining and strengthening economic growth.
“Sustainability, carbon capture, utilisation and storage are crucial. Businesses must make sustainability their core strategy, and this Budget provides a strong framework,” PM Modi stated.
The government increased the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s allocation to a record ₹32,914 crore, including ₹22,000 crore for the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
The Green Energy Corridor and National Green Hydrogen Mission each received ₹600 crore to boost infrastructure and renewable energy integration. He urged industry, investors, and stakeholders to work together to implement the sustainability framework effectively.
“Industry must take collective ownership, create momentum, support government efforts, and provide constant feedback,” he asserted.
“India’s economy is rapidly growing towards ‘Viksit Bharat’. Our goal: build, produce, connect, and export more,” PM Modi noted.
The Prime Minister identified manufacturing, logistics, MSMEs, and small towns as key pillars of growth.
The post-Budget webinar featured four sessions on industrial upgradation, MSMEs, city economic regions, and infrastructure. These discussions focused on expanding industrial capacity, boosting competitiveness, and creating jobs.
Increased budgetary support and sustainable energy initiatives will help Indian firms scale globally.
The government’s policies and collaborative approach aim to accelerate industrial growth, strengthen the clean energy sector, and advance India’s leadership in renewable energy.
