Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has solved the problem of the people of areas like Pantnagar, Indraprasthanagar and Rahimnagar who were troubled by the misleading news of their dream houses being demolished for the last one month.
Addressing the fear and confusion of the affected families who reached the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday, the Chief Minister has said in clear words that whether it is Pantnagar or Indraprastha Nagar, the state government is committed to the safety and peaceful life of the people living there.
As per the orders of NGT in the related matter, the flood plain zone of the river has been marked. Private land is also included in the flood plain zone but at present there is neither any need nor any proposal to vacate the private land. There is no issue under consideration of demolition of private buildings built on private lands. Not only this, he said that the signs put up on buildings during flood plain zone marking have spread fear and confusion among the common people. There was no justification for this and accountability should be fixed for this.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also given necessary instructions for cleanliness and development of public facilities in the said area. He has directed the officials to visit the immediate area, meet the people and remove their fear and confusion. While talking to the affected families, the Chief Minister said that in developing the river bed, if any building is constructed on private land, the certified ownership of which belongs to a private person, it will be acquired only after giving appropriate compensation as per the rules. After meeting the Chief Minister, the happy families expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister and also raised slogans of ‘Yogi hai toh yakin hai’.
It is noteworthy that regarding making the Kukrail river pollution free and reviving, the flood plain zone of the river has been identified by the Irrigation Department in accordance with the orders of NGT recently. The above action is being taken in pursuance of the Notification-2016 of National Mission for Clean Ganga.
Two plains of Kukrail river have been identified. First, river bed and second flood plain zone. The river bed is approximately 35 meters wide and the flood plain zone up to 50 meters from the river bank has been identified by the Irrigation Department. Many false facts were being propagated by some persons regarding the marking of flood plain zone, due to which there was an atmosphere of fear and confusion among the local people.
