Chaudhary Chunni Lal remains deity of oppressed and exploited: HP Governor

Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Himachal Pradesh said that former MP Chaudhary Chunni Lal was a hardworking individual. He was really straightforward and nice. He used to make people laugh with his small talk.

PRAYAGRAJ

“Former MP Chaudhary Chunni Lal was a hardworking individual. He was really straightforward and nice. He used to make people laugh with his small talk,” remarked Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, on the 24th death anniversary of former Rajya Sabha MP from Prayagraj Chaudhary Chunni Lalji at Boys’ High School and College auditorium on Sunday. He went on to say that Chaudhary sahab was the deity of the oppressed and exploited. “Within him, there was equality for all religions. If someone from any party, caste, or creed came to his door, he would never be disappointed,” he opined.

“This is why Chaudhary Chunni Lal, who had risen through the ranks via countless clashes, was a powerful grassroots leader with a distinct personality in every class,” he said. The Governor said, “My caste is a farmer, my caste is a woman, my caste is a child. For me, caste is the youth, and caste is the poor, both of whom other parties have worked hard to keep in demand. Everyone is taking part. Everyone is represented. Even among ordinary people, a 10% reservation was implemented simply because there are poor persons in this category. Chaudhary Chunnilal ji belongs to several communities.

“Because of his modesty and cheery demeanor, he wowed people of all socio-economic backgrounds. This is why he had a separate identity in each aspect. He used to sit in our class for hours during assembly. I used to sit with him and learn a lot from him. He possessed an in-depth understanding of social life. He used to work as much as he could by assimilating into his community. He exuded nationalism and patriotism, and his appeal among other classes was undeniable,” he added.

“Some individuals may have attended this event due of the influence of Justice Dr. Gautam Chaudhary, son of Chaudhary Chunni Lal, but the majority of those there may have attended because of their affiliation with Chaudhary Chunni Lal. He was introduced to the BJP by Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna ji. Following this, poet-in-chief Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee kept Choudhary ji with him to make people laugh. Push through the difficulties. He made a mark on his job and resurrected the BJP with his hard work and determination.

Prof. Rita Bahuguna Joshi, MP from Prayagraj, addressed the gathering, saying, “I have been associated with Chaudhary Chunni Lal ji’s house since childhood. However, once his son, Justice Dr. Gautam Chaudhary, was appointed to the Allahabad High Court, I did not visit Chaudhary Saheb’s home. Because I feel this is detrimental to both of us. In politics, we must also adhere to certain constraints. My youth was spent at my father’s residence. Chaudhary Saheb has strived to improve the lot of Dalits. He has fought to bring the average man’s issues from the streets to Parliament. He entered politics after completing his schooling with great difficulty. He became a Member of Parliament and member of the Public Service Commission.”
Earlier, while welcoming the gathering, Dr. Gautam Chaudhary stated that, despite being the son of Rai Saheb Chaudhary Shyam Lal, he led a very modest life. He received his schooling for whatever reason by residing in the outhouses of today’s Royal Hotel. He finished his schooling by studying under the light of a lamp post, thanks to the pastor of the church in front of the station. He was chosen for the Indian Police Service. Both of his legs were severely burned in an accident. He was at this Bailey Hospital for two and a half years. He battled the scorched limb and saved his life.

Then, on the basis of his faith, he graduated from law school. After that, he collaborated with figures such as Atal Bihari Bajpayee, RS Gavai, SP Gautam, HN Bahuguna, BP Maurya, SP Gautam, LK Advani, and Kalraj Mishra in the political and social fields. Our father used to often advise us to propagate kindness and then dump it in the river. If you have to win, winning hearts is more important than winning money. I have it today, and you will have it tomorrow,” he said. Manju Pal’s book was released by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla. The book written on Chaudhary Chunni Lal’s life was released during the afternoon homage meeting. Manju Pal, his daughter, has authored this book.

Divyanshu Pal is a co-editor. The meeting was presided over by Allahabad High Court Justice Vipin Chandra Dixit. Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, Justice Ravindra Singh, former MP and senior counsel Govind Ram Miri, Additional counsel General Ashok Mehta, and Additional Advocate General Mahesh Chandra Chaturvedi also spoke at the event.

Everyone shared their memories. Manju Pal, the author of the book and the daughter of Chaudhary Chunni Lal, recited a poem in honor of her father. Dr. Ranjana Tripathi moderated the event, while Manju Chaudhary, wife of Justice Gautam Chaudhary, gave the vote of gratitude.

Fruits were handed earlier in the morning to patients by Chaudhary Chunnilal ji’s family members at Tej Bahadur Sapru Bailey Hospital and Tuberculosis (TB) Hospital, Teliarganj, Prayagraj
