Chandrababu Naidu congratulates Pawan Kalyan on becoming Dy CM

On Friday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu extended his congratulations to Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader and actor Pawan Kalyan on his appointment as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu, who allocated his responsibilities among the cabinet members, congratulated Pawan Kalyan via a post on X.

The authorities have assigned Pawan Kalyan the portfolios of Panchayati Raj, Rural Development & Rural Water Supply, and Environment, Forest, Science & Technology.

Chandrababu Naidu, who took oath as Chief Minister along with his Council of Ministers on June 12. He also congratulated all his cabinet colleagues.

“I congratulate all my colleagues in the cabinet on being assigned their portfolios. Together, we have taken a solemn oath to serve the people of Andhra Pradesh and usher in an era of People’s Governance. I’m confident that you shall strive to deliver on our people’s expectations as Ministers. My best wishes to you all as you embark on this journey of service and devotion,” he stated.


Pawan Kalyan is one of the three ministers from his party in the 25-member National Democratic Alliance (NDA) ministry.

The voters elected the actor-turned-politician to the Assembly from the Pithapuram constituency in the Kakinada district, marking his first term as an MLA. Jana Sena Party supremo K. Pawan Kalyan registered a historic victory. He won with a whopping majority of 70,279 votes against his rival YSRCP candidate Vanga Geetha to step into the Legislative Assembly for the first time since he floated the party in 2014.

The TDP-Jana Sena Party-BJP alliance achieved a landslide victory in the recent elections, securing 164 out of 175 Assembly seats.

The TDP won 135 seats, JSP won all 21 seats it contested, and the BJP secured eight seats.

The alliance also won 21 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats.
