Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, a senior leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, has voiced strong criticisms against the Hemant Soren-led government. Soren is particularly concerned about the rising issue of Bangladeshi infiltration in Jharkhand, alleging that the state government has neglected crucial matters related to tribal identity and security.
He believes that only the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, is genuinely committed to addressing these issues. Consequently, Soren has decided to join the BJP to better safeguard the interests of Jharkhand’s indigenous communities.
Jharkhand High Court Raises Concerns
The Jharkhand High Court has also expressed serious concerns regarding these issues. During a recent hearing on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Daniel Danish, the court scrutinized the state government’s handling of Bangladeshi infiltration and the declining tribal population.
The court found the affidavits submitted by Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police from six districts in the Santhal Pargana region lacking in detail. This inadequacy led the court to question the effectiveness of the Hemant Soren government’s efforts in addressing these critical problems.
The court was not content with the lack of specific data and explanations concerning the infiltration issue. The failure to provide comprehensive information not only highlights administrative lapses but also raises concerns about the state’s commitment to protecting its indigenous population.
The court has demanded detailed explanations and scheduled the next hearing for September 5, expecting authorities to present thorough documentation on Aadhaar and Voter ID card processing.
