CEO kills her 4-year-old son in Goa, stuffs his body in her bag and travels to Karnataka.

A 39-year-old CEO, Suchana Seth, who allegedly killed her four-year-old son in Goa, was arrested from Chitradurga in Karnataka by the Goa police today, January 9. After murdering her child, she stuffed his body in her bag and attempted to travel with the body to Karnataka.

The distressing episode sent shockwaves across the nation. It unfolded as Seth, Chief Executive Officer of start-up Mindful AI Lab, accompanied by her son, checked into a rented service apartment in Candolim, North Goa, on January 6. After a brief two-day stay, she informed the apartment staff of her intention to travel to Bengaluru for work, requesting a taxi. However, despite the staff’s suggestion to take a flight, she opted for a taxi. When the apartment staff later inspected the room, they discovered bloodstains on a towel, triggering immediate police intervention.

Upon inquiry, Seth explained away the bloodstains as a result of her menstrual cycle and claimed her son was with a friend in Margao, providing a false address. Suspicions arose as the police discovered inconsistencies in her account. Communicating with the taxi driver en route to Bengaluru, authorities intervened, leading to a chilling revelation. In her possession was the lifeless body of her young son, concealed in her luggage.

The Goa police swiftly took action, arresting Seth on charges of murder and destruction of evidence under IPC sections 302 and 201, along with violations under the Goa Children’s Act. As per Superintendent of Police Nidhin Valsan, the motive behind the tragic incident remains unknown, pending Seth’s interrogation, although she mentioned her estranged relationship and ongoing divorce proceedings with her husband.

Her husband, currently residing in Jakarta, Indonesia, was informed of the heart-wrenching incident. Authorities continue their investigations, emphasizing the need for a thorough post-mortem to determine the precise cause of the child’s death. The incident has shaken the community, prompting reflection and concern for the untimely and tragic loss of a young life.
