The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has reported an overwhelming response to its answer-sheet verification and re-evaluation process, with more than 56,000 applications submitted by students seeking a review of their examination results.
The Board also announced that it successfully defended its online systems against a major cyber attack during the ongoing application period.
In a statement shared on X, CBSE said that over 56,000 applications for verification and re-evaluation had been accepted by 9.30 PM on Wednesday.
At the same time, the Board’s technical infrastructure successfully withstood a denial-of-service attack involving approximately 3.8 million data packets aimed at disrupting its online services.
CBSE stated that its technical teams continue to monitor system performance closely and are implementing improvements to ensure a smoother, faster and more efficient experience for students using the portal.

The verification and re-evaluation window opened on June 2 and will remain available until June 6 through CBSE’s online portal.
Students must pay ₹100 per subject for verification and ₹25 per question for re-evaluation, with Aadhaar-based authentication introduced this year for added security.
The process comes amid scrutiny of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system.
The government transferred CBSE Chairman Rahul Singh and Secretary Himanshu Gupta earlier this week following concerns over the digital evaluation process.
The government has also appointed a committee headed by S Radha Chauhan to review the implementation of OSM services and submit a report within a month.
The controversy has centred on complaints of answer-sheet mix-ups, marking discrepancies and grading errors.
The issue also gained national attention after Class 12 student Sarthak Sidhant presented his observations on the OSM system before a parliamentary panel on education, where committee members reportedly appreciated his inputs.
