CBI Uncovers Crucial Documents In Financial Irregularities Case At RG Kar Medical College

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made significant discoveries in its ongoing probe into financial irregularities at RG Kar Medical College & Hospital.

During a raid at the residence of former Principal Sandip Ghosh, investigators unearthed confidential documents, raising serious questions about how Ghosh accessed sensitive complaints filed against him.

Sources reveal that Ghosh had stored complaint copies, submitted to the state Health Department and other authorities, in a locker at his Beliaghata home in central Kolkata.

These documents suggest that Ghosh likely knew about the allegations against him long before any departmental investigation began, a breach of protocol now under scrutiny.

Additionally, the CBI recovered tender-related documents, which should have securely stored within hospital premises, further complicating the investigation.

These documents, linked to the hospital’s tendering process, are now central to the inquiry, as investigators suspect foul play during Ghosh’s tenure.

The CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which joined the probe after filing an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), are jointly examining how shell companies possibly manipulated tenders.

The authorities are also investigating whether Ghosh accumulated assets disproportionate to his known income.

As the investigation deepens, the focus has now shifted to officials within the Health Department who may have enabled Ghosh’s access to sensitive information.

Both agencies are expected to ramp up their interrogation of key personnel to trace the flow of funds and identify any further irregularities tied to Ghosh’s tenure.
