Gasoline Tanker Explosion Kills 48 On Busy Highway In Niger State

A tragic explosion involving a gasoline tanker has claimed at least 48 lives on a busy highway in Niger State, Nigeria. The incident occurred when the tanker collided head-on with a truck transporting cattle on the Bida-Agaie-Lapai highway, local authorities reported.

According to Abdullah Baba-Arah, head of the State Emergency Management Agency, the collision resulted in a massive explosion that engulfed the tanker and two other vehicles. The fire destroyed all vehicles involved and led to the death of 48 individuals. Additionally, the explosion caused the loss of at least 50 cattle.

Emergency crews are currently conducting a search operation to recover the bodies of additional victims who trap in the wreckage. The incident has brought significant attention to road safety and emergency response in the region.
