A tragic explosion involving a gasoline tanker has claimed at least 48 lives on a busy highway in Niger State, Nigeria. The incident occurred when the tanker collided head-on with a truck transporting cattle on the Bida-Agaie-Lapai highway, local authorities reported.
According to Abdullah Baba-Arah, head of the State Emergency Management Agency, the collision resulted in a massive explosion that engulfed the tanker and two other vehicles. The fire destroyed all vehicles involved and led to the death of 48 individuals. Additionally, the explosion caused the loss of at least 50 cattle.
