BRS Leader K Kavitha’s Judicial Custody Extended In Delhi Liquor Policy Case

New Delhi, Aug 9: BRS leader K Kavitha appeared via video conferencing in the Rouse Avenue Court today. The court extended her judicial custody until August 21.

The court granted the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) time until August 14 to number the pages of the charge sheet. After that, Kavitha’s lawyer will review the charge sheet.

Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, faces charges related to money laundering in the Delhi liquor policy scam. The case involves transactions worth hundreds of crores of rupees.

So far, 18 people have been arrested in connection with the case, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, and K Kavitha. Sanjay Singh has received bail from the Supreme Court.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21, following the Delhi High Court’s denial of protection from arrest. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Kejriwal on June 26.
