BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Sunday pledged that the NDA will end infiltration in Jharkhand to protect tribal demographics. He praised Union Home Minister Amit Shah for raising the infiltration issue while releasing BJP’s manifesto for the Jharkhand Assembly polls.
“Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar in 2000 for tribal welfare,” Prasad told IANS. He accused the Congress-JMM government of allowing “infiltrators and Rohingyas to threaten tribal rights.” He expressed confidence that the BJP would secure a majority in the Jharkhand and Maharashtra polls.
Union Minister Shah unveiled the BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra,’ pledging to protect Jharkhand’s “Roti, Maati, Beti” (livelihood, land, and daughters) from infiltration. He stressed that infiltration endangers Jharkhand’s identity. Shah highlighted the BJP’s commitment to preserving the state’s heritage, addressing land encroachment, and combating corruption.
Shah added that infiltrators pose an “existential threat” to the tribal community in Santhal Pargana by occupying land and disrupting culture.
Responding to RJD leader Lalu Prasad’s call to end “atrocities,” Ravi Shankar Prasad dismissed it, saying Lalu’s party “is itself on the verge of ending.” He urged Lalu to focus on his health.
Prasad also observed Chitragupta Puja at Gardanibag Thakurbari, honoring the Hindu deity who records human deeds.
