BJP Mocks Congress Over Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s Confession Of Fear In Visiting Lal Chowk

A video of former Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has surfaced, where he admits being scared during a visit to Lal Chowk in Srinagar as Home Minister. Shinde shared this during the release of Rashid Kidwai’s book. He mentioned following advice to visit Lal Chowk but secretly felt frightened.

Shinde humorously remarked, “Who should I tell how scared I was when I went to Lal Chowk?” His statement made the audience laugh, though he later clarified it was said in jest.

BJP Responds with a Jibe at Congress

The BJP quickly reacted to Shinde’s admission. Amit Malviya, head of the BJP IT Cell, shared the video on X. He pointed out that conditions in Kashmir have improved, with millions of tourists now visiting. Malviya also mocked Rahul Gandhi, saying Gandhi and his sister were recently seen having a “snow fight” in Kashmir, reflecting the changed situation after Article 370’s removal.

Democracy Grows in Kashmir

BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala also responded, noting the contrast between Shinde’s fear and Gandhi’s recent “Bharat Jodo Yatra” in Kashmir. Poonawala highlighted that the abrogation of Article 370 has strengthened democracy and reduced the influence of families like the Abdullahs and Muftis in Jammu and Kashmir.
