Bihar Police arrested five cyber criminals on Wednesday during a raid at Chakway-Balwapar village in Nawada district, officials reported.
The suspects, who were operating from a park in the village under the Warsaliganj police station jurisdiction, were apprehended after an investigation into cyber fraud cases led authorities to their location. The police recovered nine mobile phones and a collection of leaked personal documents during the operation.
The individuals identify as Pankaj Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Rajpal Kumar, Rahul Kumar, and another Rohit Kumar, all residents of Warsaliganj.

According to Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of the Pakribarawa subdivision, the police received a tip-off about the suspects defrauding people by impersonating employees of a private finance company. Acting on this information, a special team form under the direction of the district Superintendent of Police (SP).
“When the police team approached, the suspects attempted to flee, but we managed to chase them down and arrest five individuals. Others escaped during the pursuit,” SDPO Chaudhary explained.
The suspects have confessed to defrauding numerous people across the country, according to the official. The investigation continues as police seek to identify and apprehend additional individuals involved in the cyber fraud scheme.
