The second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly Elections is underway today, Tuesday, November 11.
In this decisive round, voters are casting their ballots across 122 assembly constituencies in 20 districts. Polling started at 7 AM and will continue until 5 PM.
Over 37 million voters, including 17.4 million women, are eligible to cast their ballots across 45,399 polling stations in this phase.
Several heavyweight leaders are in the fray today. Among them are former deputy chief minister Tarkishore Prasad (Katihar), former assembly speaker Uday Narain Choudhary (Sikandra), and ex-ministers Vinay Bihari (Lauriya), Narayan Prasad (Nautan), Shamim Ahmed (Narkatia), Rana Randhir Singh (Madhuban), Pramod Kumar (Motihari), and Sunil Kumar Pintu (Sitamarhi).
Another major name to watch is Renu Devi, a senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister.
Constituencies such as Kahalgaon, Narpatganj, Forbesganj, Mokama, and Valmiki Nagar are among the key battlegrounds drawing significant attention today.
The first phase of polling, held on November 6, witnessed a record voter turnout of 64.66% across 121 constituencies in 18 districts—the highest ever in Bihar’s electoral history.
This figure followed the Election Commission’s special revision of electoral rolls, which reduced the total number of registered voters from 78.9 million to 74.2 million.
As polling concludes today, audiences will shift their focus to the exit polls, which agencies will release once voting ends at 5 PM.
Various survey agencies will release their predictions around 6:30 PM, complying with the Election Commission’s guidelines that prohibit publishing such surveys before polling closes.
This final phase will determine whether Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s JD(U)-BJP-led NDA can retain power, or if Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD-led INDIA bloc will succeed in ending the veteran leader’s nine-term rule.
