Red Fort Blast: CCTV Shows Lone Suspect; i20 Parked For Three Hours

The Delhi Police have intensified their investigation into the car blast near the Red Fort, uncovering critical CCTV footage that tracks the suspect vehicle hours before the explosion.

Authorities reported that a white i20 car was parked near the Red Fort parking area at 3:19 PM, remaining there for nearly three hours before exiting at around 6:48 PM.

The car left during a period of heavy crowd movement, raising concerns about the potential for larger casualties.

Police sources confirmed the suspect appears to be alone in the footage, with investigators scrutinising the vehicle’s entry, exit, and route.

Efforts are underway to determine who brought the car to the parking area, who accessed it, and its path toward the traffic signal directly in front of the monument.

Mapping the Vehicle’s Journey

Investigators are analysing over 100 CCTV clips from nearby roads, toll plazas, and surrounding areas to trace the vehicle’s movements and identify the suspect.

Investigators are also examining the route toward Daryaganj to trace further movements.

The Delhi Police plan to question the parking attendant on duty at the time to collect more information regarding the car’s arrival and departure.

This is part of a comprehensive effort to understand the sequence of events leading up to the explosion.

Police have registered a case under UAPA Sections 16 and 18, the Explosives Act, and several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Authorities are leaving no stone unturned, examining all possible angles, including vehicle ownership, suspect identity, and motive.

In line with heightened security, the Delhi Police have closed Gate Nos. 1 and 4 of the Lal Qila Metro Station to public movement.

Security personnel continue to monitor the area closely to prevent any further risks.

Delhi Police emphasised that the investigation remains active and exhaustive.

Officials are piecing together the timeline of the blast, tracing the suspect’s movements, and coordinating across multiple agencies to ensure a thorough probe.

The revelation of the lone suspect and the i20 car parked for hours underscores the meticulous planning behind the attack and has prompted increased vigilance across key public areas in the national capital.
