Azadi Wali Deepawali was celebrated with great reverence at Shahid Wall, a site dedicated to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for India’s freedom. Justice Dr Gautam Chaudhary participated in the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of remembering those who paved the way for the celebration of festivals like Deepawali.
During the event, Dr Chaudhary lit a lamp at Shahid Wall, stating, “The city’s Deepawali will be complete only by lighting lamps here.” He expressed pride in honoring the martyrs, who he described as ancestors and symbols of national identity. “We must not forget our history and the sacrifices made for our freedom,” he added.

The celebration took place under the auspices of Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, bringing together freedom seekers and community members. Virendra Pathak, founder of Shahid Wall, shared historical insights, noting that during colonial times, Indians were prohibited from entering the area. He recalled that after the 1857 uprising, the British constructed a civil station in the villages of revolutionaries, highlighting the pride of celebrating independence in such a significant location.
Many prominent figures, including Anil Gupta, Krishna ji Shukla, and Dr Akhilesh Mishra, were present to honor the occasion. The event concluded with participants lighting lamps, illuminating the Shaheed Wall in tribute to the martyrs.
Dr Pramod Shukla conducted the program, ensuring a respectful and reflective atmosphere throughout the celebration.
