Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has accused BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri of violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the ongoing elections. She alleged that Bidhuri’s supporters intimidated slum residents while authorities ignored the situation.
At a press conference, Atishi claimed that BJP workers, under Bidhuri’s direction, roamed the Jhuggi clusters at night, threatening residents. She stated that her team tracked the involved vehicle and found Dinesh Chaudhary, a Bidhuri associate, at the scene. “We have GPS-tagged photos showing him in Giri Nagar Bal Mukund Khand at 11:30 PM on February 3, during the silence period,” she said.
Despite informing election officials and the police, Atishi alleged no action was taken. “The police took Chaudhary but later released him without consequences,” she added.

Atishi also accused BJP workers of creating disturbances in Navjeevan and Nehru Camp. She named Anuj Bidhuri, allegedly Ramesh Bidhuri’s nephew, as one of those involved. “Anuj, Manoj ‘Sethi’ Bidhuri, and Lalu Bidhuri were in the vehicle. We have timestamped photos proving this,” she asserted.
She further alleged that when police spotted Anuj Bidhuri, they let him escape. To divert attention, Atishi claimed, officers assaulted two locals recording the violations. “Govindpuri SHO Dharamveer Singh and 10 officers brutally beat Sagar Mehta and Ashmit Singh. We have video evidence of this,” she said.
Atishi stated that the two boys were detained from 1 to 6 a.m. without charges. Senior officers, including ACPs from Southeast, Sarita Vihar, and Kalkaji, were present but took no action.
She accused the Election Commission of protecting the violators. “I informed them, yet instead of taking action against Bidhuri’s team, they acted against me,” she said, calling it a failure of democracy.
Atishi questioned whether free and fair elections were possible under such circumstances. “Open hooliganism is happening in the capital. The police and Election Commission are shielding the culprits,” she remarked.
In a direct appeal to Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, she urged action. “We have been requesting a meeting all day, but you have not responded,” she said. She warned that Delhi’s voters would judge the situation carefully. “They see who promotes hooliganism and who provides real benefits. They will decide wisely,” she concluded.
