Arvind Kejriwal declared on Saturday that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would be contesting all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab and one in Chandigarh, signaling the end of the Opposition’s alliance in the state. Reflecting on past victories, Kejriwal appealed to the electorate for their support once again, emphasizing the historic mandate AAP received in Punjab’s Assembly elections two years prior.

“You bestowed upon us 92 out of 117 seats, creating history in Punjab. Now, with folded hands, I seek one more blessing from you,” he said. With just two months until the Lok Sabha elections, Kejriwal urged the people of Punjab and Chandigarh to rally behind AAP, promising to announce candidates for all 14 seats within the next 10-15 days. “AAP must secure victory across these 14 seats with a resounding majority,” he emphasized during the event.
Bhagwant Mann targets Congress
Mann’s recent criticism targeted Congress, indicating a significant decline in the party’s influence within the state. His remarks hint at a stalemate in the ongoing discussions between AAP and the Congress regarding seat sharing.
Despite recent collaboration in the Chandigarh mayoral elections, where both parties joined forces, the prospect of extending this alliance to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections appears uncertain. Kejriwal’s statement implies a potential scenario where AAP and Congress could find themselves competing against BJP and SAD in a four-way electoral battle in Punjab.
