Anti-terror operation in Rajouri district of Jammu And Kashmir successfully annihilated an unidentified terrorist.

According to the information shared by officials the terrorists had attacked the newly established ‘Naka’ (checkpost0) around 3 a.m. near the house of a Shaurya Chakra awardee Parshotam Kumar. Kumar was a village defence committee (VDC) member at the Gundha Khawas village in Rajouri district.

“One soldier sustained bullet injuries in the attack while a cow was killed. The checkpost had been set up after receiving inputs about the movement of terrorists. Parshotam Kumar was recently awarded Shaurya Chakra by the President for helping to kill a terrorist in the Kalakote area of Rajouri district. After the attack, a massive search operation was launched which is now underway,” officials said.

In order to combat the terrorist group operating in the steep parts of the Jammu division, the Army has sent about 4,000 more soldiers there.

Soldiers trained in mountain warfare and selected from the elite Para Commandos have been stationed in these districts. The step is intended to remove terrorist from the region, since there is an increase in terrorist attacks.

There has been an increase in terrorist assaults in the usually tranquil Jammu division. The security forces have implemented an updated plan to counter the terrorists’ hit-and-run maneuvers.

Since June 9 of this year, there have been six terrorist assaults in the Jammu division. These assaults have resulted in the deaths of twelve security personnel.

These attacks have taken place in the Poonch, Rajouri, Doda and Kathua districts. The terrorists used the element of surprise to carry out ambushes in densely forested areas.

The anti-terror operation took place following an attack on newly setup check post that injured a soldier.
