The army has deployed additional troops in the hilly districts of Jammu division to combat the growing terrorist threat. The security forces have adopted a new strategy to counter the terrorists’ hit-and-run tactics, which have resulted in six attacks since June 9, martyring 12 security personnel in Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, and Kathua districts.

The recent surge in terrorist attacks in the otherwise peaceful Jammu division has prompted the army to deploy elite Para Commandos and mountain warfare-trained soldiers to eradicate terrorism in the region.
