
Andhra Pradesh Human Resource Development and Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh will meet PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday, his office announced on Thursday.
Lokesh will travel to Delhi on Thursday night and return to Amaravati on Friday afternoon after the meeting. He will then participate in Teachers’ Day celebrations in the state capital.
Previous Meeting with PM Modi
Lokesh, son of Chief Minister and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, last met the Prime Minister on May 17, 2025, along with his wife Brahmani and son Devansh.
During that visit, PM Modi unveiled the first copy of the coffee table book ‘Yuvagalam’, which chronicles Lokesh’s 3,132 km padayatra in the run-up to the 2024 elections.
Lokesh welcomed the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms approved by the GST Council on Thursday.
Posting on X, he wrote, “The NDA government’s historic GST reform of reducing 4 slabs to 2 and reduction in the rates on essentials marks a decisive step towards a simpler, growth-oriented tax regime.”

As Andhra Pradesh’s Education Minister, Lokesh highlighted the benefits of GST reductions on maps, charts, pencils, sharpeners, and exercise books.
“These cuts will ease families’ burden on education and strengthen a knowledge-driven economy,” he said.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also praised the reforms, describing them as ‘pro-poor and growth-oriented’.
He said the revised slabs on daily essentials, education, healthcare, and agriculture would benefit farmers, businesses, and society at large.
