Aligarh: October 24: AMU administration kneels before students, notices for the early election of new VC issued, students distribute sweets and thank journalists by feeding sweets for supporting the fight to save the Act.
A notice has been issued by the Registrar’s Office on Monday to hold a meeting of the Executive Council and AMU Court to start the process of selecting a new Vice Chancellor for Aligarh Muslim University. The Executive Council considered five names. will go, after which it will be considered by the AMU CourtThree names will be selected from among them and placed before the President of India.
The process of appointment of the VC will then be completed by the President sealing one of the three names. Let me tell you that for the past several months, students have been running a movement in the name of Save Act Save AMU, in which they have been demanding that the AMU Act 1920 should not be violated. The vacancy left after the departure of former Vice-Chancellor Tariq Mansoor should be filled through a legal process while making arrangements.
Due to which students were on sit-ins and students were demanding union, this notice was issued to the administration under the pressure of students, teachers, and old boys. It had to be done, and the students considered their victory. In this regard, the students of Aligarh Muslim University expressed their happiness in front of Strachey Hall for the fulfillment of one of their big demands. Students gathered in large numbers in front of Stratchy Hall and distributed sweets and chanted slogans like “Sir Syed will bring your dreams to their destination”. Planted About this celebration, student leader Imran says, “I hope that the new vice chancellor will keep personal gain aside and work for the welfare of Aligarh Muslim University and the people sitting in the EC and AMU courts. It is the responsibility of the VC to select a VC who works for the university and comes forward for the betterment of people.
Apart from the VC panel, the students are also demanding union elections, for which they are protesting at Babe Syed Gate. Student leader Ghiyas said that our hard work to save this institution has paid off and in this regard, we have distributed sweets and expressed happiness. We hope that the new VC will work in the interest of the students and take the university to new heights in front of the world.
Student leader Aamir Muntoi said that if the Election Commission and the people in the court do not wait for the right VC, we will not hesitate to hold their hands and start a movement against them. But we also hope that these people will leave behind their selfishness. We will wait for the new VC, we are keeping a close eye on them. Zaid Shaikh, Fahad, Arshad, Owais, Orib, Farid, Mufid, Salman Ghori, Yasir, Sohail, Rehan, Hamza, Ghulam, Riaz, Shakeel and Shadin etc. were present to express their happiness.
