Amit Shah Visits Swami Vivekananda’s Birthplace In Kolkata; Slams Bengal Government On Border Fencing And Lawlessness

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday visited Swami Vivekananda’s birthplace in Kolkata, paying tribute to the revered spiritual leader and praising his role in reviving Indian philosophy and inspiring the youth.

Taking to X, Shah posted, “Blessed to have visited the birthplace of Swami Vivekananda Ji and paid tribute to the legendary sage yesterday. Also, had a great interaction with the revered saints. Here are the highlights.”

Shah Targets Mamata Banerjee’s Rule

Earlier in the day, Shah addressed BJP workers at the Special Organisational Meeting in Kolkata. He accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of promoting lawlessness, corruption, and religious appeasement.

Shah said Banerjee turned Bengal into ‘a land of infiltration and atrocities on women’ and declared the BJP would form the government in 2026.

He alleged that crimes, bomb blasts, and violence rose under her rule.

“Hundreds of BJP workers were killed after Mamata became CM. Didi, your time is over,” he said.

Shah promised to stop infiltration, end corruption, and halt the Hindu exodus.

Shah Defends Operation Sindoor

The Home Minister accused the Bengal government of denying land for border fencing with Bangladesh. He claimed Banerjee wanted infiltration to continue for vote-bank politics.

Shah asserted, “Mamata Banerjee has opened the nation’s borders for Bangladeshis. She is allowing infiltration. Only a Lotus government can stop it.”

Shah challenged Banerjee to hold elections without violence.

“If Didi has courage, contest elections without violence. Her deposit will be seized,” he said.

The Union Home Minister defended Operation Sindoor, launched after the Pahalgam terror attack.

“We went 100 km inside Pakistan, destroyed their headquarters, killed hundreds of terrorists,” he remarked.

Shah accused Banerjee of opposing the operation. “This hurts Didi’s stomach,” Shah said.

Additionally, he warned, “Operation Sindoor is not over. This is Modi’s government. Anyone daring anything will get a proper answer.”

Shah appealed to the women of Bengal to reject Banerjee.

“CM has played with the emotions of crores of women. Sisters and mothers of Bengal should teach her the value of Sindoor in the elections,” Shah said.

Shah’s visit highlighted the BJP’s roadmap for the 2026 Bengal assembly polls.
