Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress Party during a public rally in Darbhanga’s Jale Assembly constituency on Tuesday.
Accusing both parties of decades of corruption, HM Shah said, “Lalu Prasad has committed the fodder scam, land-for-jobs scam, hotel scam, bitumen scam, flood relief scam, recruitment scam and the AB Export scam. Lalu and Rabri committed so many scams, and the Congress party committed scams worth ₹12 lakh crore. Can these people do any good for Bihar?”
Shah contrasted this with the clean record of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, highlighting that neither had faced any corruption charges in their long tenures.
He added that under their leadership, Bihar had moved towards development, transparency, and self-reliance.
Highlighting the NDA’s commitment to Bihar’s progress, Shah said that the PM Modi government had initiated major projects for the region, including the establishment of an AIIMS in Darbhanga.
“The people of Mithila, Kosi, and nearby areas will no longer need to travel to Patna or Delhi for medical treatment,” he stated, accusing the previous RJD-led governments of neglecting the area’s needs.
He also referenced the recent Pahalgam terror attack, recalling Prime Minister Modi’s promise to retaliate against terrorism.
“Within 20 days, Operation Sindoor was carried out inside Pakistan, eliminating the terrorists,” he said.
HM Shah announced that the Centre plans to set up a defence corridor in Bihar, similar to the one in Tamil Nadu. “If our enemies dare attack again, we will respond with weapons built in Bihar,” he declared.
In a strong critique of the opposition, Shah described Rahul Gandhi’s recent visit to Bihar as a ‘Save the Infiltrators Yatra’, asserting that the BJP government would continue efforts to identify and remove illegal infiltrators from the country.
Highlighting the PM Modi government’s welfare policies, Shah said the Jeevika Didis initiative has transferred ₹10,000 each into the accounts of 1.41 crore women in Bihar.
“Lalu’s party says this money should be taken back. I want to tell them that even if three generations of their family come together, they cannot take back this ₹10,000,” he remarked.
Shah promised that the NDA government will deposit an additional ₹2 lakh over the next five years to support women’s self-help groups if re-elected.
Concluding his speech, the Union Home Minister warned voters against the return of ‘jungle raj’ under the RJD.
“This jungle raj is trying to sneak back in another form. Your job is to stop it by pressing the lotus button. On the 6th, vote for the NDA and ensure victory for all our candidates,” he urged.
Shah’s speech in Darbhanga marked the final day of campaigning in the region, with the NDA rallying its supporters around the themes of development, security, and clean governance.
