Service Vehicle Rolled Out To Support Eco-Friendly Idol Consecration Efforts

The Shri Khatu Shyam Rasoi Charitable Trust on Tuesday unveiled a dedicated service vehicle designed for the respectful collection and proper consecration of damaged idols.

The initiative marks a significant step towards preserving religious traditions while addressing growing environmental concerns linked to idol disposal.

Senior saints, community leaders and devotees attended the launch in large numbers. Among the key dignitaries present were Mahamandaleshwar Rajeshwar Ojha, Pandit Sunil Ojha, Dayalu Ji Maharaj, IRS officer Amit Kumar Sharma, Councillor Mukesh Goyal, Anil Vashisth, Jai Bhagwan Goyal, Basant Goyal and organisers Nirmal Gupta, Dinesh Gupta and Montu Agarwal.

Speakers at the ceremony highlighted that the dignified consecration of damaged idols is an essential aspect of safeguarding cultural and spiritual values.

They emphasised that improper disposal, particularly of idols made from POP and chemical substances, has become a serious cause of water pollution in rivers and lakes across the country.

The initiative aims not only to prevent environmental harm but also to remind citizens of the sacred significance attached to religious artefacts.

Organisers encouraged the use of eco-friendly alternatives such as natural clay idols, artificial home-based tanks and community-managed artificial ponds to minimise ecological damage.

Service Vehicle to Operate Across Delhi

The newly launched vehicle will traverse various parts of Delhi in the coming weeks, collecting damaged idols respectfully and raising awareness about sustainable religious practices.

The trust aims to engage with residents, temples and community groups to ensure that cultural sentiments are honoured while supporting environmental protection.

Organisers expressed hope that Delhi’s citizens would join this mission wholeheartedly, describing the project as a combined effort to uphold faith, tradition and nature.

The trust urged people to support the campaign and contribute to safeguarding cultural heritage and environmental well-being.

The initiative underscores that fulfilling one’s duty towards religion, tradition and nature is both a moral and collective responsibility.
