Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday shared a video of the Dharma Dhwajarohan ceremony at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, describing the moment as emotionally overwhelming.
The priests hoisted the sacred flag atop the temple’s shikhar during the auspicious Abhijit Muhurta, marking another significant chapter in the temple’s spiritual journey.
Posting on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote that participating in the ceremony was a deeply moving experience. He said the ritual, performed at a sacred hour, symbolised a renewed expression of India’s cultural pride and national unity.
In his message, PM Modi remarked that the newly raised flag represented the resurgence of a confident, modern India. PM Modi expressed hope that the flag would stand as an emblem of justice, sound governance and the nation’s collective progress.
He added that the sacred banner embodied the guiding force behind India’s transformation. He said it should remain a source of strength, prosperity and righteousness for the country.
Before attending the Dhwajarohan ceremony, the Prime Minister visited the Sapt Mandir complex within the temple premises. He offered prayers at shrines dedicated to Maharishi Vashishtha, Maharishi Vishwamitra, Maharishi Agastya, Maharishi Valmiki, Devi Ahilya, Nishadraj Guha and Mata Shabari.
Sharing photographs from his visit, PM Modi said the blessings received at the seven temples were a source of devotion and inner strength. He emphasised that the spiritual presence of these revered figures made devotees more worthy of the path of Lord Ram.
In a separate post, the Prime Minister reflected on the central roles played by the seven sages and divine personalities in the Ramayana tradition. He noted that Maharishi Vashishtha and Maharishi Vishwamitra guided Lord Ram through his early learning. He added that Maharishi Agastya’s teachings helped shape the path of righteousness during the forest exile.
PM Modi highlighted that Maharishi Valmiki gifted the world the immortal Ramayana.
Further, he added that Devi Ahilya, Nishadraj and Mata Shabari embodied pure devotion. This devotion, he said, allowed future generations to understand Lord Ram’s inclusive ideals.
